Convent of Porta Coeli

The convent of Porta Coeli is a Catholic temple located in the centre of  Valladolid since the XII century. 
It is in Teresa Gill street, near to Main Square.

It was founded by Doña Mariana de Paz in the 19th of Dicembre of 1601.

Don Rodrigo Calderón was the person who lived in the convent in the past. He was the private secretary of Duque de Lerma. He bought this palace in 12 of January of 1605.

He was sentenced to die because he killed to Francisco de Juaras. He died in the Main Square of Madrid.


The mummy of Don Rodrigo Calderón is hidden in this convent,but you can´t visit it.
